Blackberry Grapefruit Smoothie

YIELD: 2 smoothies

Bold flavors of pomegranate juice, Fresh California Giant blackberries, grapefruit, and Medjool dates make up this unique and tasty smoothie!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup pomegranate juice
  • 1/4 cup Cabot nonfat yogurt
  • 2 cups California Giant blackberries
  • 1 whole grapefruit, peeled and segmented
  • 5 Natural Delights Medjool Dates, pitted and roughly chopped
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 2 sprigs mint
  • Mint, chia seeds, and blackberries for garnish (optional)

Preparation

  1. Add all ingredients, except garnish, to a blender in the order listed. Blitz for 3-5 minutes or until smooth.
  2. Garnish by topping with fresh blackberries, a sprinkling of chia seeds, and a sprig of fresh mint.

*While Medjool dates are high in natural sugars, they are low on the glycemic index thanks to a balanced amount of soluble fiber. The complex carbohydrates found in Medjool dates are digested at a slower rate, making them a source of dietary fiber and releasing energy to the body over a longer period of time.
